Christmas is the perfect time to simmer this stove top potpourri to remind us of the season, and that we are the fragrance of Christ.
I’m always looking for simple yet purposeful gifts that point others to Christ. In 2020 with all the social distancing, and isolation, I thought this was perfect for simmering at home or gifting to others.
For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. ~ 2 Corinthians 2:15 (NKJV)
Stove Top Potpourri Recipe
Ingredients
1 Orange
1 Lemon
Handful of Cranberries
1 Teaspoon Whole Cloves
1 or 2 Cinnamon Sticks
Instructions
This recipe is so simple, I recorded a video to show you just how simple it really is.
Slice the orange and lemon, then place all the ingredients in a saucepan. Pour enough water to cover all the ingredients and bring to a boil.
Then reduce heat to low and simmer. Make sure you add more water as the water evaporates.
Gifting Stove Top Potpourri
The Fragrance of Christmas makes a great gift for family and friends, neighbors, teachers, co-workers, etc. It’s practical, yet reflects a message about our Savior.
When we gave the stove top potpourri ingredients to our church family and ministry volunteers, if you know me, you know I can’t create a gift without a gift tag.
I absolutely loved the way these gifts turned out, and I wanted to share this with our readers.
To wrap as a gift, simply place all the ingredients in a gift bag of your choice and close the bag with ribbon or twine. And don’t forget to include the gift tag!
The Fragrance of Christmas Gift Tag is available in our community library or by filling out the form below.
In The End
Whether you make this stove top potpourri for yourself or gift it to family and friends, we hope you enjoy the Fragrance of Christmas.
