Single, or married we all ask the same question: does he love me?
We look for it in their words and in their actions to justify their love for us. No matter what they do, we still find ourselves questioning their love.
Surprisingly enough, we ask God the same question. We wonder, does He really love us, with all our flaws.
Why are so many of us insecure when it comes to love; when it comes to God’s love?
Of course, He didn’t answer me. Well not at that moment, but He did answer me through a song.
It wasn’t too long after I wrote that in my journal that I attended a Women of Faith concert. The worship team sang a song called, Amazed. I’m sure, it was a remake. However, I never heard the song until then.
My heart was so tender to know if God really loved me, when I heard the words to the song it resonated with my spirit.
“You dance over me when I am unaware, you sing all around but I never hear the sound.
You make the morning sky, with miracle in mind.
My hope will always stand, for you hold me in your hands.
Lord, I am amazed by you, I am amazed by you, I am amazed by you, how You love me.
How great is your love for me?”
This song reminded me of Romans 8: 35-39 (NLT) “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”)
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
You see, it’s not about, does God love us with all our flaws. It’s about us recognizing how much He does love us with all our flaws; even during times of pain, hardship, and tribulations. We just have to remind ourselves that nothing can separate us from His love.
How do you think it makes God feels when we wonder if He loves us after all He’s done for us?
Probably, the same way our spouses or significant others feel when we question their love. When we recognize the unconditional love our Heavenly Father has for us, we won’t have to wonder ever again if He loves us.
My prayer for you today is to recognize, feel and receive God’s amazing unfailing love He has for you.
