What’s your word of the year?
You may have heard people talking about having one word or phrase that gets them through the year. We have to admit this was new for us, but we learned how valuable standing on that one word helped us during the year.
Now, discovering our one word has become a part of what we do when seeking God for what He has for us in the upcoming New Year.
And today, we decided to share how we discover our word in a simple worksheet that’s available for you to use in the community library.
Word of The Year Begins With Prayer
When thinking about your one word, we would encourage you to go to God in prayer. Seek His leading for what He wants from you in the New Year.
Then, spend some time listening to Him, and take notice to where He leads you in His word. Because your next step starts there.
Word of The Year Found Through Scripture
God will often times lead you to a few scriptures that resonate with where you are right now. When you take the time to look at those verses and pull out common words in the verses that resonates with you. Then make note of those words and dig deeper.
Learn The Meaning of Your Word
Your next step is to dig deeper with the word that is speaking to your heart at this point. Look up the definition, research synonyms and from there choose your one word.
Write A Confession
By this point you should have a revelation about your word. Think about how it resonates with your spirit, and what is God showing you.
Now make a declaration, prayer or confession you can hold onto during the year.
