Tis the season to skip the fall, jump right into winter, and gear up for Christmas!
I use to think; can’t we pass Thanksgiving, before we start talking about or decorating for Christmas?
However, when DaySpring invited me to receive their Annual Christmas Preview Box, in exchange for a review, I couldn’t resist! It gives me an opportunity to try out some new décor, before the Christmas decoration season begins. Even though I absolutely love what is in the box, these opinions are my own and like all our blog posts, I am going to keep it real.
As my walk grew stronger in the Lord, I’ve learned to embrace the CHRIST (mas) spirit year-round. And I don’t mean by keeping my décor up all year. I mean sharing the spirit of Christmas year-round so we can help win the lost to Christ.
And while I love to sow into people lives’ about the love God has for us. I also love to decorate for Christmas and give gifts.
If you’ve been following us for a while, you would know that making our home our sanctuary is important to me. Making others feel welcomed and feel the love of Jesus Christ is the primary goal in our home. And what better time to cultivate that atmosphere than at Christmas.
Each year I try to add a new element to our décor. So reviewing this preview box came right on time.
Without any further ado, here’s what was in our preview box!
Get ready, Christmas is around the corner with less than 100 days away! And isn’t this the cutest little countdown chalk board?
I chose to display this in our family room since that is where we spend the majority of our time. Our daughter is 16 years now and when she saw this sign on Sunday, she yelled Christmas is only 100 days away, let me get my list!
We joke with our kids every year, telling them Jesus is their gift but even at 22 and 16, we don’t think they are buying that.
“Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” ~ John 4:14 (NLT)
Aren’t these just gorgeous? I love the fact that the message of our Savior is embedded on these hurricanes.
“And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21 (NLT)
If you take a closer look, you will see the scripture references: 1 John 4:14; Matthew 1:21; Luke 2:10.
“But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.” ~ Luke 2:10 (NLT)
We are always looking for teachable moments with our children and those we disciple. By having these scriptures on the hurricanes it opens the door to conversations we can have about the true meaning of Christmas.
You do have an option to turn the Hurricanes around to have the names of our Lord displayed, which say; Jesus, Savior, Messiah.
For me personally, I see a few witnessing opportunities with this ornament. We have always viewed ornaments as a starting place for a tradition on our tree. And a way to witness to others about Jesus Christ in a tangible way.
The first thing that came to my mind about this ornament is that it makes the perfect gift for ministry volunteers at church. With the message displayed on the back and the cute embossed tag that says: “Because of Jesus.”
This is something that reflects what we believe as a Body of Christ and a gift that ministry volunteers can use each year, reminding them of the co-labors they serve with to advance the Kingdom of God.
Speaking of spreading the message of Jesus Christ, nothing screams louder about what we believe, then this beautiful door banner. It’s such a decorative and subtle way to express why we celebrate the season.
For us personally, our front door has glass down the center of it, so this works extremely well for us by covering up the glass. To be honest I was a little concerned if it would fit, because we have such a longer than usual front door. But to my surprise, the door banner fit perfectly.
I think my favorite part about the door banner is the backside that is displayed in our home when the door is shut. I love that it says, “Peace Be with You.”
This is just one of a few door banners DaySpring offers. In fact, I may order another door banner that matches our outside Christmas décor that we already have.

I saved this for last, because it is what I am most passionate about. I really think with our modern-day technology, we have lost the art of handwritten notes and sending cards to each other.
However, greeting cards and written notes have a greater impact than most people think.
When we take the time to write a handwritten note or card, it warms the receiver’s heart in a way that cannot be described literally. I cannot tell you how many Christmas cards we send out each year and how very few cards are sent to us.
Please don’t misunderstand us, it has no bearing, on whether or not we send a card, because we know the value it has. But what we are saying, every year we receive emails, text messages and /or phone calls about how our Christmas card blessed them.
Why? Because we don’t just typically send a card. We include a family picture, and a letter about the family; making the card a little more personable.
I love this card because it has an elegant presence with a bold statement. And while this card is probably one of my favorites, DaySpring has a beautiful selection of cards where you can choose your favorites here.
I think DaySpring did a beautiful job capturing the heart of Christmas while bringing elegance of décor to our homes. I cannot wait for Thanksgiving to come around so that I can begin displaying these beautiful additions in our home.
So tell me, which of these items are your favorite?
