We are truly humbled to be nominated for The Blogger Recognition Award by Tammy with Footprints of Inspiration.
In 2007, Andre and I faced the most difficult time our life. We suffered extreme sadness with the loss of family, the loss our home, and we were at a breaking point with our faith. We prayed and asked God “why” we were in this situation.
One day, we heard God speak to us in a still small voice; “stop asking why and start documenting how I am going to get us through this.”
It was then that we started to journal our life experiences, our trials, the miracles we saw daily, and spiritual truths, we discovered along the way.
That was a pivotal moment of change for us. As that was when we learned God’s priorities and decided to start living by them. It not only changed our marriage, it changed our life!
Then, in 2014 God placed it on our hearts to turn our journals into a blog. And we now find great joy inspiring others to embrace a lifestyle of living within the priorities of God.
Let’s be real. Blogging is not for the faint at heart. But if you got it in you to walk on water and you’re a new blogger or thinking about blogging, here’s some advice.
If you blog for the sake of making money, or because it’s popular, it will become work for you. Eventually, you will get burnt-out and give up.
However, when you write what you’re passionate about, you won’t get tired of writing. In fact, when God gives you a passion for something, you’ll realize that your writing is no longer writing, it’s ministry.
How many of you know someone who started a business without counting up the cost? Likewise, some people start a blog without knowing what it will take to have a successful blog. When we do too much, too soon, we often waste time, and money because weren’t prepared.
We had been blogging for almost 2 years before we took our first blogging course, Elite Blog Academy. I can tell you from experience, we wish we took that class before we got started.
There was too much time spent re-doing things that were done wrong. As a result, we spent more money to correct those mistakes. But, God will use everything in our life for His good.
When we learned there was a smarter way to go about blogging, we created a blogging resource page to help share what has worked for us.
There’s a ton of courses and information available at our finger tips. And by taking the time to count the cost, you will have better idea of what’s involved with blogging.
Whether you scope out our blogging resource page or not, the point is to learn as much as you can. Be as informed as you can. So you can use your time and resources wisely.
We were not created to live this life alone. We were created to be in relationship with one another. Just as fellowship is important to your spiritual walk, fellowship with a community of faith bloggers is important for the growth of your blog.
As a faith blogger, our rewards may only be seen when we get to heaven. Therefore, you will need a community of faith bloggers to remind you of your eternal reward when you begin to grow weary in well doing.
Fellowship within the Body of Christ extends far beyond our church walls. We can fellowship even online. And it was through the online blogging community, where we’ve come to know mighty bloggers. So, here are 15 FAITH BLOGGERS we’re nominating for The Blogger Recognition Award.
That is, that we may be mutually strengthened and encouraged and comforted by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. ~ Romans 1:12 (AMPC)
